Born Again?
"Nothing on this website is more important than your salvation."
What It Means
- Spiritual rebirth: Your first birth was physical; this is a second, spiritual birth.
- Inner transformation: God changes your heart and mind, making you a new person inside.
- Dead to alive: You go from being spiritually "dead" in sin to spiritually alive in Jesus.
- God's work: It is a miracle done entirely by the Holy Spirit, not by your own effort.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."
How to Be Born Again
To become born again, a person places their total trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins.
- Acknowledge Sin: You must recognize that you have sinned against God and cannot save yourself (Romans 3:23).
- Repent: You turn away from your sin and self-reliance, changing your mind to align with God's truth (Acts 3:19).
- Believe in Jesus: You trust that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead to pay your penalty (Romans 10:9).
- Receive the Gift: You accept salvation as a free gift of God's grace, not something earned by good deeds (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Turn from sin. Trust in Christ. Live through Christ.
